“This must be the 12th unit Graeme has bought," John explained. We continued by asking if he ever encountered any problems with the engcon Tiltrotators.
“No, they never break. The only thing you might need to do is to re-seal the hydraulic motor after some years, but really we have no issues at all with using the Tiltrotators. And we really do use them," John continued.
Graeme McKay, the owner of the company, walked up to us. We asked him how many years he had been using the engcon products.
“I must have been using engcon for about six or seven years now," said Graeme. “They just make the machine so much more flexible and it is great when doing batters as you really can attack the surface from the right angle," he continued.
Graeme McKay started his business about 15 years ago. The company specializes in rail work but also carries out some work in general construction. They have about 70 machines; excavators, trucks, dumpers, screeners and graders. Most of their work is carried out in Victoria, but they also go further afield into New South Wales.
“We must have six graders today and two dump trucks," Graeme told me.
There was good reason for Graeme McKay to be proud that day. His company had grown to about 45 employees, and his trucks and machines were nicely lined up and shining in the Australian sun.
Everything seemed very well organized and really well looked after.
